Mobility scooters are a great way to get around for those that are suffering from aches and pains or a lack of mobility but still want to maintain their independence. Deciding which battery you need may seem a little complicated at first, but these simple considerations will help make the decision-making process easier.
Like our wheelchair batteries, the categories for our scooter batteries are broken down by brand and size. You will then need to consider how long you will need your battery to run for to help choose one with the right run time for your needs.
The main type of mobility scooter battery and most commonly used is sealed lead-acid (SLA). Sealed lead-acid batteries are some of the least expensive batteries available and are great for light and occasional scooter users.
It’s important to try to charge your mobility scooter every day. The charger that your chair is supplied with should enable you to charge the scooter fully overnight without any issues, and you won’t need to worry about overcharging as most modern chargers now automatically switch off when full.
